London’s trying to tackle it’s waste issues with a new task force to improve recycling efficiency in the capital. Peter Jones, previously of Biffa, will represent the Mayor of London on the board, alongside a group of representatives from a number of London’s councils.
Boris Johnson has made it clear in the past that improving recycling in the capital is a major priority for his administration, most noticeably, he scrapped The Londoner and chose to use the money to plant trees.
Commenting on Jones’ appointment, Johnson added: “Peter has an impressive background in the world of waste allowing him to gain outstanding understanding and technical expertise. I am confident that we have assembled a crack team to tackle this pressing issue.”
