To cope with an increase in the amount of waste being produced in Buckinghamshire, plans for a new waste transfer site have been approved by the local council despite residents’ concerns about its impact on the Green Belt. other objections to the site chosen include the increased noise levels and more hazards for the local school children.
To counter these arguements, Buckinghamshire County Council said there should be no more than 40 vehicles in and out of the site on any one day. In addition to this, Wycombe Trade Waste and Skip Hire told the council it has run a waste transfer facility on or near the industrial site for 16 years without planning permission, so the traffic may not be that different.
