Even in a recession, waste has to be removed, processed, recycled and disposed of so you may be forgiven for thinking that a skip hire company could never go the way of the pear. But plenty are doing and have done, right across the country, the latest of which is a Blackpool firm which claims to be the oldest skip hire business in the area.
Smith’s Skip Hire has gone into administration after 40 years in the game and according to local press the company still had dealings with some of the largest businesses in Lancashire. Despite these contracts, Administrators from accountancy outfit JM Marriott were appointed last week and yet another Skip Hire company looks like becoming a victim of this ongoing economic trough.
