Did you know: the waste and recycling industry has nine times more fatal accidents than the national average? Not only that but the new Health & Safety Executive (HSE) figures also reveal the industry workers suffer four times as many injuries than the average.
As a result of these eye opening stats, bosses of waste mangement and skip hire companies are being invited to an event in London to help reduce death and injury at work. The idea behind the event and others held by the HSE is to provide advice and information as part of a national campaign to reduce the number of incidents.
If you haven’t had an invite, don’t worry, all are welcome at the three-hour event at Bywater’s recycling plant, Twelvetrees Crescent, Bromley-by-Bow, 8.30am this coming Monday (January 25). Get down there and help save some lives.
