You may remember we blogged about John Cooper last month, not the John Cooper, but the John Cooper that owns a business providing skip hire in Preston and the surrounding area. He faced charges of purjury after allegedly lying to a magistrates’ court about being on his mobile phone while driving.
Cooper refuted all accusations saying that the cab had been fitted with a working hands-free system at the time of the original offence. It went to court hearing at Preston Crown Court and now a verdict as been arrived at, the jury found him guilty of perjury and he was jailed for six months and ordered to pay £1,200 in court costs.
