Bit of industry news for you now – plans to build a recycling facility in Ware, Hertfordshire have been withdrawn after local paper the Mercury revealed some less than positive revelations about the work.

Details on the scheme show that the site would be used to handle rubbish from skip hire collections, not recyclables collected from homes in the area. After being asked by the paper for more information, the applicant Mentmore Holdings Limited (MHL) decided to temporarily withdraw its proposals. The site would’ve been used by MHL’s numerous waste collection businesses with any toxic or harmful material being securely housed in a quarantined area.
