Catchy title there.

Anyway, a bit of industry news for you now…

When it comes to skip hire Liverpool is well covered but if you were to look into the handling of municipal waste, you would see that there’s room for improvement across Merseyside. As a result, the Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority is currently looking to offer their waste management contract to a new company and they’ve boiled it down to two bidders.

The two in question are SITA UK and Covanta and they’re both vying for ownership of the £400m Resource and Recovery contract. The contract involves the handling of around half a million tonnes of municipal waste each year across the county. But before you get all excited, the winning bidder isn’t going to be chosen until early 2011 so you can save your party poppers for new year.
